Greetings/Salutations:
Until further notice, PVRW will be collecting twin-bed size blankets, underwear, socks and baby wipes for our troops, as water is scarce in Iraq. If you wish to contribute, please bring these items to the Meeting March 10, 2008. Rita Prince has made arrangements through the U.S. Marines in Las Vegas to ship the items, saving us that costs. ‘Atta Girl, Rita.
03/10/08 PVRW Meeting will be at 7 PM and is Moving to my offices at 2240 E. Calvada. (Across from “The Eye”). The former chapel will accommodate over 100 members and guests easily, unlike the recent crowded meeting at Great Basin College.
Tanya Metaska has agreed to be Parliamentarian for PVRW, which should assure compliance with Roberts Rule of Order.
Fifth District Judge Robert Lane entertained PVRW Members with stories of both submarine action and finding Samantha. Judge Lane gave us pertinent information about the drug court programs, with a whole family approach being taken.
Congressman Heller is the guest speaker at PVRW’s Lincoln Day Dinner on 2/29/08 at 6 PM Mountain Falls Golf Club. Governor Jim Gibbons and First Lady Dawn Gibbons will be in attendance to celebrate with us.
March 8, 2008, you are welcome to attend the Nye County Convention at the Beatty Senior Center. If not a member, you may join the Nye County Central Committee. Any question should be directed to RoseMarie Johnson at 751-8451.
It is important that PVRW Members strongly support Republican candidates on all local, state and national levels. To quote Arnold Schwartzenager when asked why he is a republican, “If I wanted to live in a socialist state, I would have stayed in Austria.”
I hope to see all of our members on February 29th at the Lincoln Day Dinner; March 8th at the Nye County Republican Convention; and March 10th at our next PVRW meeting.
PS: Don’t forget your 2008 dues and consider placing your ad in the Elephant Tale.
3-10-2008 MEETING MOVED TO: 2240 E Calvada Blvd.
Stay active and God Bless our Members and our Troops.
Lilian Donohue
President
